Isola 2000 is the closest ski resort to an international airport in Europe: ninety-three kilometres from Nice Côte d'Azur, an hour and a half by road. That is a selling point for the resort and a real constraint for transport, because those ninety-three kilometres climb the Tinée valley on a mountain road that rises from sea level to two thousand metres. In winter that means mandatory winter equipment, sometimes icy surfaces and, after heavy snowfall, temporary closures or restricted access. The resort is built as a single linked complex of buildings, with drop-off at the foot of the residences and ski-in access. Demand is seasonal and heavily concentrated: changeover Saturdays, pre-dawn departures, and bulky luggage with ski and snowboard bags.

1 hr 30 for ninety-three kilometres climbing the Tinée valley from sea level to two thousand metres. This is a mountain journey: compliant winter tyres for much of the season, possible ice on the last kilometres, and temporary closures after heavy snowfall. The volume of ski luggage decides the vehicle.

Yes: winter tyres and equipment compliant with the regulations in force in the Alpes-Maritimes. The Tinée road requires them for much of the season, and we do not set off without.
In the van easily, ski and snowboard bags included. In a saloon, allow two bags at most. State the number of pairs and bags when booking — it decides the vehicle.
