Sophia Antipolis is not a town but a technology park spread across several communes, with no centre and no obvious address. The buildings are scattered through pine woods, the street names resemble one another and getting the wrong park costs ten minutes. It is the region's leading business district, with international company headquarters, research centres and a steady flow of visitors arriving from Nice Airport. Demand here is almost entirely professional: staff transfers, seminar shuttles, client pick-ups, often invoiced to the company. The village of Valbonne, next door, belongs to another century: a sixteenth-century grid plan, an arcaded square, restaurants. The airport is half an hour away by the approach road, a journey that easily doubles at the morning peak.

Thirty minutes outside rush hour, and readily double in the morning: the approach road to the technology park is one of the busiest in the department. The other difficulty is the arrival. Sophia Antipolis has no centre and its parks resemble one another: without the company and park name, you can reach the right sector and the wrong building.

Give the company name, the park name and the full address. The technology park has many parks with similar roads, scattered through pine woods: without those three elements you can end up in the wrong sector and lose ten minutes.
