Port Hercule is the Principality's only deep-water harbour and one of the most prestigious in the Mediterranean. Its access is singular: the quays are stepped, several are subject to control, and some are reached only by a service road you do not find by chance. A driver who has never served the port can end up on the wrong side of the basin, with the whole circuit to drive again. The port hosts large yachts all year and concentrates activity during the Monaco Yacht Show in September and the Grand Prix in May, two periods when traffic is reorganised and accesses change.
