Genoa Airport: how the pick-up works
Genoa is about two and a half hours from Nice on the Autostrada dei Fiori, the Italian A10 that follows the Ligurian coast. Its Cristoforo Colombo airport, built on an artificial peninsula, sometimes serves as an alternative to Nice for European routes or for reaching the cruise port of Genoa, one of the busiest in the Mediterranean. The journey is simple in road terms but long: motorway almost the whole way, through the tunnels and viaducts of the Italian Riviera, with tolls on both sides of the border. It is a classic long-distance transfer, where a firm price quoted in advance and a door-to-door service earn their place against a train with a change at Ventimiglia. From Genoa, Monaco is two and a quarter hours away, Menton two hours, San Remo one hour.
