Monaco-Monte-Carlo Station: how the pick-up works
Monaco's station is entirely underground, cut into the rock, and that is what makes it disorienting. It has several exits a long way from one another: on the Sainte-Dévote side, near Port Hercule and the centre, and on the Fontvieille side, several hundred metres further and several dozen metres lower, linked by long corridors and lifts. A traveller who comes out of the wrong one ends up a quarter of an hour's walk from their meeting point. The pick-up point must therefore be fixed before arrival, according to the exit. The station takes coastal regional trains, from Ventimiglia to Cannes, at high frequency. From the station, the Casino is five minutes away, Port Hercule three, and Nice Airport half an hour.

Which exit should I take?
It depends on your destination: Sainte-Dévote for the centre, the Casino and Port Hercule, Fontvieille for the south of the Principality. Tell us which when you book, or the meeting point may be a quarter of an hour's walk away.
Can a French private-hire car pick up at Monaco station?
Yes, as part of a pre-booked journey. That is the principle of private hire: no plying for hire, but pick-up on booking, in the Principality as anywhere else.
How long to Nice Airport?
About thirty minutes on the A8. If the motorway is blocked, the Basse Corniche is still usable but appreciably longer: we allow for that in the timing.
